Computer work experience

1994 - present: C0-founder, president of the board of directors, and co-Webmaster of NativeWeb.

NativeWeb is an Internet site dedicated to the broad electronic dissemination of information and materials on Indigenous peoples around the world, including a section entitled Abya Yala Net dedicated to materials on Indigenous peoples in Latin America.

1993-1997: Research Assistant: Department of History, University of Kansas.

Computer consultant for the Department of History at the University of Kansas. Responsibilities included design of a plan for the computerization of the Department, design and implementation of instructional computer software and hardware for use in the classroom, training, software, hardware and network installation, and trouble-shooting software and hardware problems, and design, implementation, and administration of HNSource, an early and pioneering electronic information server on the Internet for historians.

1995-1996: Member: Comunicaciones Graficas Interactivas (CGI).

Member of Comunicaciones Graficas Interactivas (CGI) at Ecuanex in Quito, Ecuador, a work group dedicated to placing information from Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) in Ecuador on the World-Wide Web.

1994-1995: Communications Intern: South and Meso American Indian Rights Center (SAIIC), Oakland, California.

Assisted SAIIC, a small non-profit organization, to set up and utilize a variety of computer tools, including a PeaceNet conference, a listserv mailing list and a World-Wide Web page on the Internet. Helped organize information resources and constructed a database of library resources. Also assisted in the marketing, production, and distribution of SAIIC's journal Abya Yala News.
