Monday, June 12: Women's organizations in Managua
We began our first real day of delegation work with a meeting with Sofia Montenegro from the National Feminist Committee. We then visited with the Women's Network Against Violence where we spoke with Yamileth Mejia and Juanita Jimenez (below).
We then stopped at the International Foundation for the Global Economic Challenge (FIDEG) to speak with Sonia Agurto. We then got on the bus to go to León. We stopped on the shores of Lake Managua, and here Virgina and Michael are admiring the Monotombo volcano.
Unfortunately, at kilometer 55, our bus broke down. We had to wait while they brought out another bus from Managua. We didn't get to León until late at nite, and now it feels as if I've been behind ever since. On to tomorrow.
